Once located where the Sunoco station now stands, Eagle Hotel was located, with the “Model Vienna Bakery” on the main floor. The hotel was originally owned and operated by Mr. Crole, and later by George Imboden. The hotel provided a comfortable atmosphere for weary coach travelers: outside there was brick pavement, horse-hitching posts, carriage stepping stones; inside one found cuspiders, and comfortable bar chairs. For the horses there was a large watering trough ni front and a fine livery stable in the rear.
Management changed sometime before 1930, and the complex was called The Penway Hotel and Bakery. The hotel burned down on April 13, 1970.
