Bollinger Plaza: Annville Academy Building/Ladies’ Hall of LVC

The Annville Academy was established as an educational institution in 1834 and built their Academy building in 1857-58.  In 1865, it was purchased for $4,500 by five public-spirited citizens who donated it to denominational leaders of the United Brethren Church.  They agreed to "establish and maintain there forever an institution of learning of higher grade."  Though the Annville Academy building was torn down in the early 1970s to provide an open campus, the promise stands: Lebanon Valley College continues to serve the region today.
